When a flight crew walked by, he followed them with his eyes.
“Todavía caminan juntos así”, murmuró.
“¿Como qué?”
“En formación. Siempre lo he hecho”.
Pensé que era una observación extraña, pero no lo cuestioné.
At the gate, we found two seats beside the window. Our plane waited outside while ground workers loaded luggage.
I purchased Dad a cup of tea.
Cuando volví, él estaba sosteniendo esas alas de plata de nuevo.
Al otro lado de la sala de espera estaba sentado el hombre de negocios.
He was discussing an important presentation, complaining that any delay might cost his company a major account.
Apparently, nobody else could handle his work properly.
I sat beside Dad, furious.
“How can someone behave like that and still think he’s important?”
Dad took a sip of tea.
“Maybe he’s dealing with something difficult.”
“That’s no excuse.”
“No, it isn’t,” Dad agreed. “But being angry won’t undo what happened.”
