“You will not speak to her at all.”
Vanessa laughed softly.
“Still dramatic. You always were your father’s son.”
“What do you want?” I demanded.
Finally, she turned her attention to me.
Her expression sharpened.
“I want what belongs to the Harrington family.”
My grip tightened around Noah’s shoulder.
“My children belong to no one.”
“One of them does,” Vanessa replied.
A cold wave swept through me.
Eli.
Blake’s voice sliced through the phone.
“If you take one step toward those boys, I will bury you.”
Vanessa’s smile faded slightly.
“You should be careful, Blake. You have no idea what was done for you.”
“For me?” he demanded. “You destroyed my marriage.”
“I preserved your future.”
I stared at her.
“What future?”
Vanessa tilted her head. “The Harrington bloodline was fading. Blake’s condition made natural conception nearly impossible. Emma’s fertility results were poor. The marriage was becoming useless.”
