Reservé un crucero en solitario después de un doloroso divorcio de mi esposo: en el cuarto día, un extraño se sentó en mi mesa y susurró: “Soy la razón por la que tu esposo te divorció”

Inside was a cruise ticket.

A seven-day voyage.

One passenger.

One private cabin.
My name was printed across the confirmation.

I stared at it.

“Diane, I can’t take a cruise.”

“Yes, you can.”

– Ahora no.

“Especialmente ahora”.

I pushed the ticket back toward her.

“A vacation won’t fix my marriage.”

“No,” she said gently. “But staying in this kitchen won’t fix it either.”

I looked away.

She leaned closer.

“Ellie, you’re disappearing in front of me. You’ve spent three weeks waiting for Marcus to give you permission to move forward.”

Her voice softened.

“You need to remember who you are without him.”

Volví a mirar el billete.

El barco partiría la semana siguiente.

“I don’t even know who I am without Marcus.”

Diane squeezed my hand.

“Then maybe it’s time you found out.”

I wanted to argue.

But deep down, I knew she was right.
